Bercy Village
Famous for its old wine cellars, this area is one of the newest neighborhoods of Paris. Beautifully renovated and full of interesting shops and restaurants, this is one of my favorite places to go for lunch with a girlfriend and shopping for that “something different”.
Also in Bercy Village is the UGC cinema complex. This is the largest movie theater in the Ile de France (Paris and its surrounding area).
All films are shown in original version. (VO)
Metro: Cour St.Emilion
The Viaduct des Arts
This used to be an old railway viaduct where each arch has been transformed into a shop front and workshop space. Stroll along this street for a great show of contemporary metal-work, tapestry, sculpture, ceramics and more. After you have seen everything, take one of the small staircases that will bring you to the top of the viaduc.
Metro: Gare de Lyon
The Promenade Plantée
This walk begins at the Bastille and runs for 4 ½ kilometers along the length of avenue Daumesnil, the Reuilly Garden and the Porte Dorée, ending at the Bois de Vincennes. Stroll on the avenue viaducts, embankments and other landmarks of the 11th and the 12th arrondissements.
Open on weekdays at 8h00 and weekends at 9h00. Closing time from 17h30 to 21h30 depending on the time of year.
Bois de Vincennes
The perfect place for a morning jog around the lake, or an afternoon stroll with a sandwich from one of our local bakeries. Of course, for the courageous one’s, there are bike rentals or row boats next to the lake so you can explore the woods for greater lengths.
Château de Vincennes
This was a fortress that was the focal point of many events in French history. You may take a guided tour of the keep and the chapel or you may just walk around the towers and see for yourself.

The Parc Floral
The garden which extends over 30ha-75 acres includes hundreds of species. The Valley of Flowers is delightful all year round. The Pavillons are dotted in a setting of pine trees around the lake and the Hall de la Pinède houses exhibitions and shows (photographs, dance, posters and horticulture.) Alleys lined with modern sculpture lead to the children’s adventure playground.

The Vincennes Zoo
Here is a special treat for the children who have followed you through so many “boring” museums. 550 mammals and 700 birds of some 200 different species live in natural surroundings close to their familiar habitat. At the center is an artificial rock 72m-236ft high inhabited by wild mountain sheep. Take the elevator to the top of the mountain for a beautiful view of the Vincennes woods.
